Beginning Teacher Identity: Exploring Core Values and Culturally-Relevant Teaching

In this session, we will first explore your own core values through Elena Aguilar's Wheel of Power and Privilege to (1) frame an interactive discussion of how our induction programs approach our teacher candidates' core values and (2) determine knowledge, skills, and tools we need to have as coaches to guide our teachers through exploring, identifying, and reflecting on core values, culturally-relevant teaching practices, and their combined impact on classroom teaching and learning.
